I fought the Blog and the Blog won (Link building tactics for your blog)

When we talk about so called offsite SEO i.e. link building, we are referring to the links on the other websites that point back to your blog, as well as your site's internal linking structure. Incoming links and internal links and are both very important for your rankings in search engines. Now, let's take a look at some of the link building methods blog owners should be doing.

Blog contest.
How you set it up? It is up to you. The aim is to get people to link back to your site. You can give bonus contest entries to everyone who links back. Another good method is to find websites that promote current and upcoming blog contests. Submit your contest to them as well.

Blog's URL as a forum signature

Forum posting is another good way of getting other sites to link to you by adding your website addres) as a forum signature.First of all- read the rules regarding signatures. You can find one of many high PR forums list here .
This also can be very time consuming, so instead of searching for quality forums to post your link signature, you can simply hire someone who will do it manually, or even order on Fiverr gigs like this.

Social bookmarks and news submissions
Use services without rel=nofollow. Show links to services like  Folkd or Blinklist. Always have in mind that social bookmarking services will mostly make a copy of what you bookmark including a do follow link back to your blog.

Website and blog directories
It is such an underestimated method. Ok, I admit that this strategy is somewhat devalued but it is still great way to get some backlinks. For example, botw.org  has specific directories. If directory has a high pagerank and also has a relevant category put a link to your blog in their listings. Head over Google and search for "blog directories". You will see a lot of them. Some bloggers will accept links to almost any blog. Others are maybe aim to more targeted audience.

Guest posting
The most valuable method at the moment. You can do it ion both ways: First is to write article and offer it to the other blog owners via networks such as MyBlogGuest. You can put your link in author byline after the article with your desired anchor.
Another way to promote your blog is to do it reversible way - Head over to My Blog Guest and find some useful articles for your blog from other writers. They will get their backlink in byline, you will get more quality content on your blog: win-win situation.

Blogroll
A common method for building backlinks: just swap links with another blog's blogroll. Be careful, not all blogrolls are the same. Some bloggers are very selective about which blogs they will put into their blogrolls. You need to check the blogroll of every blog which ask to be added to your blogroll.

Post comments to related blogs which are placing high in the search engines
Don't just spam it. Nineties are over. Instead of it, leave thoughtful comments.

You can also try high valuable method to build links using public data. It is hard to get listed, but it is worth of effort.

Use a Wordtracker Linkbuilder tool  to find blogs that are part of larger media. Making a link campaigns with this Wordtracker tool can show some very interesting link prospects.

Back ontopic: Large media blogs contain lots of fresh content and links. Therefore, blogs like that are very popular in search engine results.
To be honest, I must admit I don't have much success with large media websites, because they can often be hard to contact. You should on blogs on media sites. They are usually more accessible.

Bloggin' , bloggin' , bloggin' on the river (Beat a writing blockade)

What do I blog about?
How many times you asked yourself the same question? Blogging can be really hard when you have no ideas what to write about.
Every blogger have blogger's block sometimes. Most experienced know how to overcome it. Here are few tips which may help you:

1) Take care of your readers. Read their comments. Read it again.  What excites them? What they are often talking about?  Sometimes, reading through the inspiring comments give ideas and encourage blog authors
Advertisers are spending a lot of money studying their audience. Your audience are posting comments to your blog. You don't need any other method to analyse what your hungry reading crowd want to read. Feel the pulse of your audience.

2) Stumble upon. Great social network. Find some posts similar to your blog. Research and make notes or mind maps. Write down few proposals for title of your new post. Everything begins with the title. Title must be catchy to attract readers. Tips for relieving the mental pressure: tell yourself that you are just writing title. A simple title. Write some bulletpoints, organize it. You will come up with few useful ideas for the title. That is most important step in the beginning of writing new post, you know that already.

3) Ebuzzing is also good idea when it comes to inspirational blockade. You should try it. If you don't know what is Ebuzzing all about, Read more here .

4) Use a calendar. If you come up with a few great ideas for title, or maybe  you'll even have some notes about the topic you want to write about, schedule it! That's right, schedule your future unwritten posts, just with title and few notes. In that way you wouldn't forget some titles you would surely forget (it happened to me so much times). You will also create an "obligation" to write a post with that title on a scheduled day. Great way to motivate yourself.

5)  Write 100 words then take a break. Just 100 words. Then stop and think about it. Set your timer. You can even set your timer on every 5 minutes. 5 minutes of writing, five minutes break. Stop after fifth minute, even if you are in the middle of the sentence. That will give you enough time to think whether your writing goes in right way.

6) inurl:blog (+) "your keyword" . That should give you enough ideas. Read  other blogger's posts about topic you want to write about.

7) Change a place where you writing. Come out from your bedroom. Make yourself a coffee and sit on the porch. Maybe that is not good spot for you? You like crowded places? Head over to you favourite Starbucks. The most important thing is to go somewhere  where the atmosphere is different than your home office. You can even interact with other people and ask someone their opinion about something.

8) When you tried everything and still don't know what to write about, use one of a sneaky tricks to write something, just to keep yourself in writing shape:

-Make a top ten lists of something. I know i know you made it so many times. Make another one. Make "part 2" of some previous lists. Make another one "how-to" blog post.
- Do you know some experienced blogger? Make a short Q & A interview. It will grab the attention of your readers immediately.
- Make a poll. This is very useful because you will find out what your readers think. For a long term strategy their poll answers can inspire you to write about new topics.

9) I don't want to lie to you. Sometimes nothing can help.  Sometimes you're just really stack with a lack of ideas. It's OK. Go somewhere. Cut the grass or take care about flowers in your garden.  Make a lunch. Take a break. Even 20-30 minutes pause can get your ideas flowing again. Easy come , easy go...always have that in mind when you think about your writing blockade.

Blog side of the moon (Why I Love Blogging)

Blogging become a platform for all kinds commercial , social, and personal stories and (maybe more important) information. These days it’s much more widely used in business, as well as by individuals.
There are various kinds of blogs, such as:

- Sharing your interests.
You can write about anything, absolutely anything: your hobbies, your work, your children, your favourite movies etc..and that is one of the fantastic things about blogging . Wecan keep up to date with other people’s views on things that we have in common, because there’s a bunch of blogging sites dedicated to particular interests, whether it’s the cars or computer games, holidays and travel , gadgets, famous people, music - we can stay in touch with the most up to date information

- Getting involved into community

Community groups use blogging to get their organisations known by a wider reaching audience. Charity associations and local clubs too. Short piece on the next meeting can help promote the work of the club, and may even attract more participants or volunteers. The biggest advantage of blogging is that it’s quick and easy too. Also, anyone can do it.

- Blogging as a kind of social network.
Most of us like sharing our thoughts with the rest of the world. Blogging has given us the opportunity to get our opinions published for everyone to see. We can comment on the latest big news items which we are interested of. We can write down our daily thoughts, good or bad things what's happening in life , and share our big moments on the blogging pages.

- Promoting your business
Blogging has increased the potential traffic to the websites, giving the marketers and small business owners much more exposure to people, using search engines for specific information. The passion for your ‘idea’ may best be expressed through the use of a business blog. For the small business owners, it’s a great way to publicise their products without advertising costs, which can save their money big time, because we all know how expensive conventional advertising can be. Just by posting a blogging column, companies can often draw in more business than by the conventional methods.

Some 'business bloggers ' tend to believe that strict 100% professionalism is the key to their online success in financial way. I think that approach is a mistake. If you’re enthusiastic about your products or business , and blogging often about it, you will find visitors who will turn into customers . Be professional, but be passionate as well.

And don't forget:
The first thing for a successful blog is The Look. Yes, really. The more professional your blog looks, the more seriously your readers will take your posts. The content of your blog is equally important, but the most important thing is DEDICATION! You must be willing to be dedicated to the blog. You have to put in the time and energy to get positive results
Having become one of the greatest Internet resources for all types of people, blogging is usually free, easy to get started, and gives us all the opportunity to reach a massive worldwide audience!

Blogging for Business - Do You Really Need To Start A Blog?

My first sentence is - of course! You have to!

Why?

There are several reasons for doing that:

First, having a blog allows you to have real time conversations with customers (if you own a niche blog, affiliate, CPA or anything that goes in  "money making category blog") . At your blog, every customer  can personally witness how you deal with answer questions,  is your content valued, etc.

Blog can also help you drive tons of traffic to your site. For example, I am a content writer for  SEO Atlanta company. A lot of traffic comes from our blogs.
Blog can establish yourself as an trusted expert in your field, thus means - more trust for your opinions and writings. You can gain more customers, and even earn more money.
There are so many ways to improve your blog. You can create polls and surveys, and actually get real-time feedback on what your readers and potential customers  like to see and what they want to see improved on your page. The more honesty and  transparency you put into your blog content, the more will customers respond to that. Blog community is huge. More valued content and interaction - means more loyalty of your readers. More loyalty  means increased sales.

Having several posts when your blog is started is not enough to get visitors to hang around and keep reading. You have to have enough posts pre-written so by the time your blog goes live you can post them all one after another. This will allow a reader to be able to have a look around at what your writing and the more people read, the higher the chance that they will subscribe and  come back for more.

To get returning visitors from the start you have to have at least twenty posts pre-written and ready to post as soon as your blog goes live. If you have more than twenty quality posts ready to go you can be assured that your readers  will stick around and read.

Long story short: having a blog for a small business purposes means more readers,  which leads to more  potential customers.
You can think that you are not a good writer. So? You  don’t  need to be a great writer to have interesting  content and  draw traffic on your blog! Feel the pulse of readers. Try with guest posting authors. Improve your blog in any way!!!

You can personalise your blog with various  blog templates.  Your blog can also be a functional website, with, links, pictures, even complete with a product store, and everything else.
You need to have passion for blogging. Many bloggers will start to write couple of posts  per day on their first and maybe second week. Then will continue to post once a day or maybe once a week. That is so wrong.
Organise yourself! Schedule your posts.  Ask any blogger, what they have done in first couple of weeks or even a months. Your readers will note come in first or second week. But don't be desperate because of that. Just keep to provide valued content and promote it.  You ask all of the bloggers that have done this and they will tell you that it took a week to a month before they started to get readers.

Yet,  maybe it is not your primary reason?! Some professional bloggers literally earns  $3,000 or more per month from their blog. Enough for more than decent living and considering blogging as a full time job from home, right?
